Description

The Eclipse is a 440mm-tall table lamp built around two intertwined black chrome arcs that rise from a circular base and each hold a cut optical glass shade housing a G9 bulb fitting. The glass shades are sculpted with faceted surfaces that refract light into prismatic patterns when the bulbs are lit, turning the shades themselves into light sources rather than simple covers.

Designed for side tables, console tables and bedside positions where both ambient and accent lighting are needed, the Eclipse works as task lighting when dimmed low and as a decorative focal point when set to full brightness. The 230mm width and 150mm depth make it compact enough for a bedside table without crowding the surface, while the 1.8kg weight gives it stability without requiring a particularly heavy or anchored table. The lamp accepts dimmable G9 LED capsule bulbs, allowing brightness to be adjusted depending on time of day or room use.

The black chrome finish is applied over the metal frame through a PVD coating process that produces a darker, gunmetal-toned surface rather than the bright reflective finish of polished chrome. This darker tone reduces glare under daylight and gives the lamp a more subdued presence in contemporary, industrial and monochrome interiors. The cut optical glass shades show no colour tint when unlit, appearing clear with visible internal facets, and produce white light when paired with neutral-temperature LED capsules.

Frequently Asked

What bulbs does the Eclipse take?

The lamp takes two G9 capsule bulbs, sold separately. Most users pair this with 2.5-4W LED G9 capsules in 2700K-3000K for warm white light. The fitting accepts halogen G9 capsules as well, but LED is more energy-efficient and runs cooler.

Is it dimmable?

Yes, if paired with dimmable G9 bulbs and connected to a compatible dimmer switch. The lamp itself has no built-in dimmer, so dimming depends on the bulb specification and the wall switch or in-line dimmer used.

How stable is it on a bedside table?

The 1.8kg weight and circular base give the Eclipse good stability on flat surfaces. The 230mm x 150mm footprint is compact enough for most bedside tables without overhanging the edge, and the centre of gravity is low enough that the lamp does not tip easily.

What's the difference between black chrome and polished chrome?

Black chrome is a darker, gunmetal-toned finish applied through PVD coating, producing a low-sheen surface that absorbs more light than it reflects. Polished chrome is bright and mirror-like. The black chrome finish suits darker, industrial and monochrome interiors where a brighter metallic would create too much contrast.
