Description

The Eclipsa is a 90mm square surface-mounted downlight with a matt black metal housing and a single GU10 bulb fitting. The square body sits 90mm proud of the ceiling, with the lamp recessed into a black reflector ring at the base. The GU10 socket accepts any standard GU10 LED or halogen bulb (sold separately), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible GU10 dimmable bulb and dimmer switch.

Designed for ceilings where recessed downlights cannot be installed due to shallow void depths or solid concrete construction, the Eclipsa mounts directly to the ceiling surface and directs light downward. The compact 90mm footprint suits hallways, kitchen task areas above worktops, bathroom mirrors (IP20 rated, zone 3 only), and accent lighting in living rooms where focused pools of light are preferred over diffuse ambient illumination. The fitting can be installed singly or grouped in a grid pattern.

The matt black finish provides a low-contrast appearance against dark ceilings and a defined geometric accent against white or light-toned ceilings. The metal housing dissipates heat from the bulb through the top surface, allowing the fitting to run continuously without overheating when paired with LED bulbs. What bulb does it take and is it included?

The Eclipsa takes a standard GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a GU10 LED bulb between 4-7W and 3000K-4000K depending on whether warm or neutral white light is needed.

Is it dimmable?

The fitting itself is dimmable-compatible. Actual dimming depends on using a dimmable GU10 bulb and a compatible dimmer switch. Not all GU10 LEDs dim smoothly, so check the bulb packaging for dimmer compatibility before purchase.

Can it be used in bathrooms?

The IP20 rating limits the Eclipsa to dry indoor locations only. In bathrooms it can be installed in zone 3 (areas more than 600mm from the edge of the bath or shower) but not in zones 0, 1 or 2 where moisture exposure is higher.

How is it installed?

The Eclipsa mounts directly to the ceiling surface using screws through the top of the housing. The mains cable enters through a knockout hole in the top panel and connects to the GU10 lampholder inside the housing. Installation requires mains wiring knowledge and should be carried out by a qualified electrician.
