Description

The Eclipsa is a surface-mounted downlight with a cylindrical black metal housing and a single GU10 bulb fitting. At 150mm diameter, the fitting projects from the ceiling rather than recessing into it, making it suitable for solid ceilings, concrete soffits, or rooms where ceiling void depth is limited. The metal cylinder directs light downward through a reflector aperture at the base.

Designed for focused task lighting or accent lighting, the Eclipsa works in kitchens positioned over worktops, in hallways, retail spaces, or offices where directional light is needed without cutting into the ceiling structure. The black finish provides high contrast against white or light-coloured ceilings, making the fitting more visible as a design element. The GU10 fitting accepts any standard GU10 LED, halogen or CFL bulb up to the maximum wattage (see Specification), and the fitting is dimmable when paired with a compatible dimmer and dimmable GU10 bulb.

The IP20 rating limits installation to dry indoor spaces — the Eclipsa is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use. The metal cylinder measures approximately 150mm in diameter and projects around 100-120mm from the ceiling, so it needs headroom clearance in areas where people walk underneath. The fitting carries a 5-year warranty from Ideal Lux and is supplied without a bulb.

Yes. The fitting itself is compatible with dimmer switches, but you must also use a dimmable GU10 bulb. Not all GU10 LEDs are dimmable — check the bulb specification before purchasing.

What ceiling height is needed?

The fitting projects approximately 100-120mm from the ceiling. In rooms where people walk directly underneath, allow at least 2m headroom from floor to the base of the fitting to avoid head clearance issues.
