Description
This Easter figurine gathers two grey rabbits around a stack of pastel tea cups, a gentle and playful piece for the season. A lilac cup sits on top of a pale blue one, both banded with raised gold-coloured scrollwork and finished with curling gold handles, and the pair rest on a pink saucer edged in gold. One rabbit peers out over the rim of the top cup, paws on the edge, while the other climbs up the side of the stack. A large pink rose with green leaves and a smaller lilac rose bloom at the foot of the cups. It is made of polystone resin and stands 14.5cm tall, 13cm wide and 12cm deep, small enough for a windowsill.
We think it belongs wherever you gather for Easter: on the dresser beside a bowl of painted eggs, at the centre of a spring tea table, or on a hall sideboard to greet guests. Its soft pastels sit happily in a cottage kitchen or a pretty sitting room, and the tea party theme is a natural fit beside the teapot when friends come round for afternoon tea. It makes a thoughtful Easter gift and a lovely alternative to chocolate, one that can come out again every spring.
The rabbits' fur is picked out in fine textured strokes, and the gold scrollwork stands proud of the cups. The saucer forms the base, so the figurine stands on any flat shelf or table and needs no hooks or fixings. The cups are part of the sculpture rather than for drinking from, so keep it for display. To care for it, dust it with a soft dry cloth, or wipe it with a lightly damp cloth and dry it straight away; harsh cleaners are best avoided on a painted finish. Set it at eye level, where both rabbits can be seen and enjoyed.
