Three slender glass shades hang in a row beneath a linear bar in antique gold, each drawn out into a tall wine-glass shape with a narrow neck and a gentle flare at the mouth. The glass is amber, so the light comes through with a warm honey cast. The bar runs 850mm from end to end, and every shade drops on its own suspension, so you can sit them level in a tight row or stagger the heights over a table. Each takes an E27 lamp of up to 20W.

We would hang this over a kitchen island or the long side of a dining table, where separate pools of light do more than a lone fitting overhead. It suits rooms where the ceiling is high enough to let the drops breathe, and it works nicely against dark cabinetry or a pale plaster wall, since the gold and amber pick up whatever warmth is already in the room. Dimming is possible if you pair dimmable lamps with a compatible dimmer; neither comes as part of the fitting. Keep it to dry indoor rooms, well away from steam.

The bar and ceiling plate wear an antique gold finish, soft and slightly aged rather than bright, and the amber glass sits well against it. Switch off at the wall and let the lamps cool, then run a dry microfibre cloth over each shade; for finger marks, dampen the cloth rather than the glass. It runs on an ordinary domestic mains supply and needs an earth connection. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range puts the same antique gold onto flush fittings for lower ceilings, and there is polished chrome as well if you want something cooler. Lamps are not included.

How low can the shades hang?

Each drop is adjustable from 270mm up to 2270mm, so the shades can sit close under the ceiling or fall well down over a table.

How wide is the fitting overall?

The bar is 850mm long, with the shades themselves 80mm across, which keeps the run narrow enough for a standard island or a rectangular table.

Which lamps do I need?

Three E27 lamps, each no more than 20W. LED is the sensible choice, and because the amber glass is see-through we would pick a decorative LED with a tidy filament or a neat opal finish.

Can I put it on a dimmer?

Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps and a dimmer matched to them. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer is supplied.

How should I clean the amber glass?

Isolate the power and let the lamps cool, then dust with a dry microfibre cloth. For smears, put a little glass cleaner on the cloth rather than spraying the shade, and avoid anything abrasive on the gold.

Is it covered by a warranty?
