Description

A candle-shaped LED lamp in gold tinted glass, meant to be seen rather than hidden behind a shade. The tint does most of the work: at 2200K the light sits well below ordinary warm white, nearer the amber of an old filament lamp or a lit wick. Output is gentle, 330 lumens drawn from 4W, so it reads as a glow rather than a working light. It uses the small screw E14 cap and is non-dimmable, so pair it with a standard switch.

We reach for lamps like this in fittings where the glass is on show: multi-arm chandeliers, candle wall lights, small pendants and lantern-style hall fittings. In a snug, a dining room or over a bar it gives that low, evening light that flatters brass and dark wood. It is a decorative lamp first, so we would not ask it to light a kitchen worktop or a desk on its own; put it where the fitting itself is part of the room and let something brighter do the work elsewhere. Several together in one fitting build up nicely without ever getting harsh.

The body is glass with the gold cast running through the finish, and the whole lamp is light enough to sit comfortably in delicate arms. It carries a five year warranty. For care, turn the fitting off and let the glass go cold, then wipe it with a dry lint-free cloth; dust dulls the tint faster than you would expect, and sprays and polishes have no place near it. Keep it to indoor fittings on the usual household mains.
