Description

Duracell Plus Power AAA batteries are 1.5V alkaline cells using Duracell's Power Boost Ingredients formula, supplied in a 4-pack blister. Each AAA (LR03/MN2400) cell measures 44.5mm length and 10.5mm diameter, fitting standard AAA compartments in remote controls, wall clocks, wireless keyboards, torches and similar low-to-moderate drain household devices.

Designed for devices used intermittently rather than continuously, the Plus Power range extends runtime compared to standard zinc-carbon batteries while remaining at a lower price point than Duracell's Procell or Ultra ranges. Typical applications include TV remotes, alarm clocks, wireless doorbells, bathroom scales and torch backup power where the device draws current in short bursts rather than constantly.

The Power Boost formulation adjusts the cathode chemistry to reduce internal resistance during discharge, extending the usable capacity before terminal voltage drops below the 0.9V threshold most electronics treat as depleted. Duracell backs the cells with a leak-resistant construction using a nylon seal on the negative terminal and a metal jacket crimped onto the positive cap, reducing the risk of electrolyte seepage during storage or after full discharge.

The 4-pack format suits households keeping a small stock for topping up remotes and clocks without committing to larger multipacks. Shelf life is typically 7-10 years from manufacture when stored at room temperature, making the pack viable as drawer stock for infrequent use.

Frequently Asked

How long do AAA alkaline batteries last in a remote control?

In a typical TV or set-top box remote used 1-2 hours daily, AAA alkaline batteries typically last 3-6 months. Lower-use remotes (air conditioning, occasional devices) can run 12+ months on a single set. Battery life depends on transmission frequency, LED indicator usage and whether the remote uses infrared or RF transmission.

Can these batteries be used in high-drain devices?

The Plus Power range is optimised for low-to-moderate drain devices (remotes, clocks, scales). For high-drain devices like digital cameras, gaming controllers or active toys, Duracell Ultra or rechargeable NiMH cells provide better runtime and lower cost per use.

What's the difference between Plus Power and standard Duracell batteries?

Plus Power uses the Power Boost Ingredients formulation, which extends runtime compared to basic zinc-carbon batteries and matches or slightly exceeds standard Duracell Coppertop performance. Duracell Ultra and Procell ranges offer higher capacity for devices with sustained or heavy current draw.

How should unused batteries be stored?

Store AAA alkaline batteries at room temperature (15-25°C) in a dry location away from metal objects that could short-circuit the terminals. Avoid storing in hot environments (cars, windowsills, boiler cupboards) as elevated temperatures accelerate self-discharge and reduce shelf life.

Shipping & Returns

Free worldwide delivery

Free worldwide delivery on all orders over £99. International orders for third-party brand products may be subject to an additional courier surcharge based on volumetric weight, particularly on larger lighting fixtures — if a surcharge applies, our team will email you with the amount before dispatch and you can proceed or cancel for a full refund.
