Description

The Duna is an 81cm linear suspension light with six GU10 bulbs housed behind white opal acrylic diffusers, set in a polished chrome frame made from two interlaced curved arms. Each arm sweeps in a wave pattern, creating a rectangular composition when viewed from below, with the chrome structure reflecting light back off the diffusers and onto surrounding surfaces.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and open-plan spaces where linear task and ambient light is needed, the Duna works over islands 1.5-2m long or dining tables seating 6-8. The 500-730mm adjustable drop allows the fitting to be positioned 700-800mm above a worktop or table surface, with the 25cm width keeping the light concentrated along the length of the island rather than spilling too wide. The rectangular footprint of 81cm x 25cm means the fitting doesn't dominate smaller islands but still provides enough spread for larger surfaces.

The polished chrome finish produces strong reflections under natural daylight and artificial light, giving the fitting a more architectural presence than brushed or satin finishes. The white opal acrylic diffusers soften the six GU10 lamps into a continuous band of light rather than individual hotspots, with the 2700K warm white colour temperature producing a softer tone than cool white or daylight LEDs. The interlaced arm design means the chrome structure is visible from all angles, not just from directly below, so the fitting reads as a sculptural object when seen from the side in an open-plan layout.

Are the bulbs included?

Yes. The Duna ships with six CFL GU10 bulbs rated at 2700K warm white. These can be replaced with LED GU10 bulbs of the same colour temperature if preferred, though the fitting is not dimmable so dimmer-compatible bulbs are not required.

What island or table length does it suit?

The 81cm length works over kitchen islands 1.5-2m long or dining tables seating 6-8 people. For longer islands or tables, two Duna fittings can be spaced in line to extend the light coverage without creating a gap in the middle.

Can the drop be adjusted after installation?

The drop is set during installation by adjusting the cable length through the ceiling rose before the chrome canopy is fixed in place. Once installed, the drop cannot be adjusted without removing the canopy and re-routing the cable.

How is the acrylic cleaned?

The white opal acrylic diffusers can be wiped with a damp microfibre cloth and dried immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents, which can scratch or cloud the acrylic. The polished chrome can be cleaned with a chrome-safe polish to restore the mirror finish if it dulls over time.
