Description

This oval resin photo frame brings Dumbo to a baby's first portrait, with the little elephant sitting at the lower right of the frame, ears spread wide. The frame is a soft light grey scattered with small stars in glittering gold, white and grey, and Dumbo is hand painted in gentle grey with blush pink ears, a yellow hat and a pink and yellow collar. He sits proud of the frame as a raised figure, so he catches the eye from every angle. It holds one 6 x 4in photograph in a single oval opening, and measures 18.5cm tall, 14.5cm wide and 2.5cm deep.

We think it makes a lovely birth gift, a keepsake for the nursery to mark a baby's arrival. The oval carries the words "Welcome to the world little one" until your own picture goes in, ready for a first cuddle, a sleepy early portrait or a snap from the day they came home. Its strut lets it stand on a nursery shelf, a chest of drawers or a bedside table with no need for a wall or a hook, and its soft colouring sits easily beside pale greys, creams and pastels. It is a frame for display, a keepsake for grown-ups to look after rather than something for a little one to handle.

The frame is made from resin and hand painted, and it has no mount, so your photograph sits straight behind the oval opening, which frames the centre of the picture; a shot with your little one in the middle works best. At the back, two turn clips hold the backing board in place and a hinged strut folds out to stand it upright. Dust it with a soft dry cloth. For gifting, slip a favourite photograph in before you wrap it, so the proud parents have a picture ready for the shelf from the first day.
