Description
The Duceri D520RWH is a surface-mount emergency exit box with a 3W LED lamp, integrated self-test function and lithium battery backup providing maintained or non-maintained operation. The white polycarbonate housing measures 402mm x 204mm x 71mm and carries a right-arrow running man legend on a green backlit panel, conforming to BS EN 60598-2-22 and BS 5266 emergency lighting standards.
Designed for commercial, hospitality and public building installation, the Duceri mounts directly onto walls or ceilings above final exit routes, fire exit doors and escape corridors where directional guidance is required. The self-test function automatically checks the battery charge level and LED operation at regular intervals, logging fault data to simplify maintenance inspections and reduce manual testing requirements. The maintained mode keeps the LED illuminated during normal mains operation, switching to battery power during a mains failure.
The lithium battery chemistry provides a longer service life and more stable charge retention compared to nickel-cadmium alternatives, typically requiring replacement every 4-5 years rather than 3 years. The IP20 rating makes the fitting suitable for indoor use in dry locations. The white finish integrates cleanly with suspended ceilings, painted plasterboard and commercial corridor interiors without drawing excessive attention during normal operation.

Frequently Asked
What is the difference between maintained and non-maintained operation?
Maintained mode keeps the LED illuminated continuously during normal mains operation and switches to battery power during a mains failure. Non-maintained mode only illuminates the LED when the mains supply fails. The Duceri D520RWH can be configured for either mode during installation.
How does the self-test function work?
The self-test function automatically checks the battery charge level and LED operation at programmed intervals, typically monthly for a short functional test and annually for a full-duration discharge test. Fault data is logged internally and indicated by status LEDs on the fitting, reducing the need for manual testing and simplifying compliance inspections.
How long does the lithium battery last?
Lithium batteries in emergency lighting typically provide 4-5 years of service life before requiring replacement, compared to 3 years for nickel-cadmium alternatives. The self-test function monitors battery condition and will indicate when replacement is needed.
What emergency duration does it provide?
The battery backup provides 3 hours of emergency illumination during a mains failure, meeting the standard requirement for most UK commercial and public buildings under BS 5266. See the specification sheet in the Downloads tab for exact battery capacity and duration ratings.
