Description

The Duality is a 20cm round pendant light built around a dual-layer glass shade system: a transparent cone-shaped inner shade enclosed by an outer dome coated in mirrored gold. The outer glass dome is treated with a galvanic gold finish that reflects light and surrounding surfaces when the bulb is off, and glows warm amber when lit. The black metal canopy and cable run contrast against the gold tone of the shade.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands, breakfast bars and café installations with ceiling heights of 2.5m or higher, the Duality pairs ambient and decorative function. The pendant includes a 3m cable that can be shortened during installation to set the drop between 42.5cm and 334cm, allowing the shade to hang 60-80cm above a dining surface or 90-120cm above a kitchen worktop depending on ceiling height. The black metal canopy fits standard UK ceiling roses and the cable run is concealed inside the suspension tube.

The E27 lamp holder inside the transparent inner cone accepts standard screw-fit bulbs up to 60W (sold separately). The dual-layer glass construction creates a layered lighting effect: the inner cone directs light downward and outward through the transparent base, while the mirrored gold outer dome diffuses and reflects light back into the room. The 20cm diameter suits single-pendant installations over small dining tables or bar counters, or multiple pendants clustered over larger islands. The IP20 rating restricts the Duality to dry indoor locations away from bathroom zones.

The pendant takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED filament bulb between 4-8W and 2200K-2700K to emphasise the gold tone of the outer glass dome.

Can the cable length be adjusted?

Yes. The Duality includes a 3m cable that can be shortened during installation. The minimum drop from ceiling to base of shade is 42.5cm; the maximum is 334cm. Cable shortening is permanent and should be done by a qualified electrician.

Is the mirrored gold finish on the inside or outside of the outer dome?

The galvanic gold mirror finish is applied to the outer surface of the outer glass dome. When the bulb is off, the dome reflects surrounding surfaces like a mirror. When lit, the gold coating diffuses and warms the light passing through the glass.

Can the Duality be used in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the pendant has no moisture protection and must be installed in dry indoor locations only. It is not suitable for bathroom zones or outdoor use.
