Description

This Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket provides 115V and 230V outlets at 20VA output, accommodating both UK and international electric shavers and toothbrushes behind a polished chrome rounded edge faceplate with a white insert. The socket is rated IP41 for protection against solid objects over 1mm and dripping water, making it suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 under BS 7671 wiring regulations.

Designed for installation in bathrooms, en-suites and cloakrooms, the socket requires a minimum 47mm mounting box depth and sits 7.5mm proud of the wall once fitted. The rounded edge profile includes a built-in gasket between the faceplate and wall surface, creating a seal that prevents moisture ingress behind the plate and gives a clean finished appearance. The white insert behind the chrome faceplate defines the dual outlet apertures and isolator switch.

The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings in contemporary and traditional settings. The IP41 rating makes this socket suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3 under BS 7671 wiring regulations. It must not be installed in zone 0 (inside the bath or shower tray) or zone 1 (directly above the bath or shower to a height of 2.25m).

What back box depth is needed?

A minimum 47mm mounting box depth is required. The faceplate adds 7.5mm of projection from the wall once installed, giving a total depth of approximately 54.5mm from the wall surface to the back of the box.

Can it charge electric toothbrushes as well as shavers?
