Description

The Knightsbridge dual voltage shaver socket provides both 115V and 230V outlets behind a polished chrome rounded edge faceplate with a grey insert. The socket is built to EN 61558 standard and carries an IP41 rating, making it suitable for bathroom installation in zones 2 and 3 where direct water spray is not present.

Designed for bathrooms, hotel en-suites and washrooms where dual voltage capability is needed, the socket accepts both UK 230V shavers and international 115V devices without requiring a separate travel adaptor. The 20VA rating handles typical electric shavers, toothbrushes and small grooming appliances. The rounded edge metal faceplate requires a minimum 47mm back box depth and is fixed with two visible screws through the plate.

The polished chrome finish provides a mirror-like reflective surface that pairs with chrome taps, towel rails and other bathroom fittings. The grey insert behind the faceplate frames the dual outlets and provides visual separation from the wall. The socket is constructed from steel with an earthed Class I design and a gasket around the faceplate edge to meet the IP41 ingress protection requirement. What bathroom zones is this socket suitable for?

The IP41 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3 — typically more than 600mm from a bath or shower tray edge. It should not be installed in zones 0 or 1 where direct water spray or submersion is possible.

What devices can I plug into this socket?

The socket accepts UK 230V shavers and international 115V devices such as electric toothbrushes, shavers and small grooming appliances up to 20VA total load. It is not designed for hairdryers or other high-power appliances.

What back box depth is required?

A minimum 47mm back box depth is needed for safe installation. The faceplate adds 7.5mm projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the socket screwless?

No. The rounded edge faceplate is fixed with two visible screws through the plate. Knightsbridge also produce a screwless version of this socket in their other product ranges.
