The socket is built around an isolation transformer certified to EN 61558 and carries an IP41 rating for protection against solid objects above 1mm and dripping water from any angle.

Designed for bathroom installation where Building Regulations require isolation-protected sockets in zones 2 and 3, this unit fits a standard 47mm minimum back box depth and uses a screwless cover plate that clips onto a separate steel sub-frame. The grey insert behind the brushed chrome faceplate hides the back of the cover and defines the socket apertures. The 4.3mm projection from the wall once fitted keeps the socket close to flush on the mounting surface.

The brushed chrome finish resists fingerprints and water spotting better than polished chrome, maintaining a consistent appearance under daily bathroom use. The premium-grade steel construction adds rigidity to the faceplate, and the built-in gasket between the cover plate and sub-frame provides additional moisture resistance beyond the IP41 minimum. What devices can I plug into this socket?

The socket supports electric shavers, trimmers and toothbrush chargers designed for either 115V or 230V mains voltage, up to a combined maximum load of 20VA. The two-pin apertures accept standard shaver plugs. Do not use this socket for hairdryers or other high-wattage appliances.

Where can this socket be installed in a bathroom?

UK Building Regulations Part P allows shaver sockets with isolation transformers to be installed in bathroom zones 2 and 3. This socket carries IP41 protection and an EN 61558-certified isolation transformer, making it compliant for these zones. It cannot be installed in zones 0 or 1 (inside or directly above the bath or shower enclosure).

What back box depth is required?

A 47mm minimum mounting box depth is needed for safe installation. The screwless cover plate adds 4.3mm of projection from the wall once fitted.

Is the screwless plate removable for redecorating?

Yes. The brushed chrome cover plate clips onto a separate steel sub-frame fixed to the back box. The cover can be removed for painting or tiling around the socket and re-clipped without re-wiring.
