The Knightsbridge dual USB charger module provides two USB-A charging ports with a shared 5V DC 2.4A output, designed for installation in grid plate systems. The module occupies two side-by-side grid positions and clips onto the front of a standard grid mounting frame, requiring no separate back box beyond the 35mm minimum depth for the grid system itself.

Designed for residential and light commercial installations where USB charging is needed without occupying a full socket outlet, the module suits kitchen worktops, bedside tables, study desks and hotel rooms where multiple devices need charging simultaneously. The 2.4A shared output handles two smartphones or one tablet plus one phone comfortably, though charging speed reduces when both ports are in use at full draw.

What's the output when both ports are in use?

The module provides a shared 5V DC 2.4A output across both USB-A ports. When both ports are in use, the 2.4A is divided between the devices — typically 1.2A to each, or more to whichever device draws harder. This is sufficient for two smartphones or one tablet plus one phone, though charging speed will be slower than a dedicated 2.4A-per-port charger.

Does this work with USB-C devices?

The module has USB-A ports, so USB-C devices require a USB-C to USB-A cable (not included). The 5V output is compatible with USB-C devices, but fast-charge protocols (USB-PD, Quick Charge) are not supported.

How many grid positions does it occupy?

Two side-by-side grid positions. Knightsbridge grid plates are available in 2, 3, 4 and 6 module widths — this module requires a plate with at least two adjacent positions available.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

The IP20 rating means the module is for dry indoor locations only. It cannot be installed within bathroom zones where water contact is possible. For bathroom charging, an IP44-rated shaver socket or an outlet outside the defined zones is required.
