Description

The Dryden-3 is a polished brass wall light with a single opal glass globe mounted on a tapering turned arm. The fitting is built from solid brass with a polished finish and includes one 3W LED G9 bulb inside the globe, casting 3000K warm white light through the opal glass. The IP44 rating allows installation in bathroom zones 2 and 3, where moisture and occasional splashing occur.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms, the Dryden-3 provides ambient rather than task lighting. The 350mm height and 135mm projection suit walls with clearance above washbasins, beside mirrors, or flanking doorways. The polished brass arm and oval backplate add a traditional accent to period and transitional interiors, while the opal globe softens the light output and prevents glare at eye level.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting a substantial weight and durability against the humidity and temperature fluctuations common in bathrooms. The polished finish develops a patina over time in high-moisture environments, which can be maintained with a brass polish or left to age naturally. The G9 LED bulb is replaceable and provides approximately 250 lumens output from the 3W rating.

Is the Dryden-3 suitable for bathroom installation?

Yes. The IP44 rating provides protection against splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. These zones include areas adjacent to baths, showers and washbasins, but not directly above or inside the bath or shower enclosure itself.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The fitting includes one 3W LED G9 bulb at 3000K warm white. The bulb is replaceable if it needs upgrading or fails outside the warranty period.

Can the polished brass be maintained or does it tarnish?

Polished brass develops a natural patina over time, particularly in humid bathroom environments. This can be maintained with a soft brass polish and microfibre cloth, or left to age naturally for an antique finish. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scourers on the polished surface.

What wall clearance is needed?

The fitting projects 135mm from the wall when installed. Allow an additional 65mm radius around the globe for the full clearance envelope, so approximately 200mm total depth is needed to avoid the globe sitting too close to adjacent surfaces or furniture.
