Description

The Dryden 2 is a single-arm wall light built from solid brass with a polished chrome finish, mounting a flared clear glass shade on a turned column arm. The fitting includes one 3W LED G9 bulb delivering 3000K warm white light through the glass, which diffuses the LED source whilst maintaining clarity. The IP44 rating provides splash protection suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3.

Designed for bathrooms, hallways and bedrooms where wall-mounted task or accent lighting is needed, the Dryden 2 pairs a traditional hurricane-lamp silhouette with a contemporary chrome finish. The 410mm height and 120mm projection suit installation either side of a bathroom mirror, flanking a headboard, or along a hallway at 1600-1800mm from floor level. The circular backplate of approximately 100mm diameter covers a standard UK wall box fixing point.

The solid brass construction gives the fitting a 1.2kg weight that feels substantial on the wall without needing additional mounting brackets beyond the two fixing screws through the backplate. The polished chrome finish reflects ambient light and maintains brightness in smaller bathrooms and corridors. The clear glass shade shows the full outline of the LED capsule bulb inside, making this fitting better suited to interiors where the visible bulb complements the design rather than detracting from it.

Is this suitable for bathroom use?

Yes. The IP44 rating provides splash protection suitable for bathroom zones 2 and 3. This means it can be installed outside the immediate shower or bath zone, such as above a sink or on a general bathroom wall, but not directly in a shower enclosure or above a bath.

Does it come with a bulb?

Yes. The fitting includes one 3W LED G9 bulb rated at 3000K warm white. The G9 socket accepts replacement bulbs up to 3W LED or 28W halogen if you wish to change the light output or colour temperature in future.

What bathroom zones is it rated for?

IP44 allows installation in zones 2 and 3. Zone 2 is the area above the bath or shower to a height of 2.25m. Zone 3 is the general bathroom area outside zones 0, 1 and 2. The Dryden 2 should not be installed in zones 0 or 1 where direct water jets or submersion are possible.

Can the bulb be replaced?

Yes. The glass shade lifts off the metal collar, giving access to the G9 socket. Replacement bulbs are widely available and sold separately at Niori.
