Description

The Dronvelle Pendant Light is a two-tier ceiling pendant made of steel, with a wide brown dish shade and a smaller brown dish hung beneath it. Inside, the upper shade has a crinkled gold finish that looks like gold leaf, so the gold shows from below while the outside stays a quiet brown. It is 48cm across and 110cm tall overall, hanging from a round brown ceiling plate on a long, slim cable. It takes an E27 bulb of up to 60W, and the bulb is not included, so the colour and warmth of the light are yours to choose. With an IP20 rating it is made for dry rooms indoors, never a bathroom or anywhere outdoors.

Hung over a dining table, the broad shade sits wide over the table and turns its gold lining towards everyone seated beneath it. It works as well in a living room or above the dining end of an open-plan kitchen, where one wide pendant marks out the eating area. It suits anyone who likes warm metallic tones but would rather have them framed by brown than a full gold or brass finish. Because it is switched at the wall, there is no pull cord or inline switch; it answers to the light switch you already have.

The body is steel. The two dishes, the slim stem and the ceiling plate share the same brown, and the gold appears only inside the upper shade and in a small disc at the base of the lower dish. It runs on standard 220-240V, 50/60Hz mains and weighs 3.105KG packed. As a light wired into the ceiling, it is installed by a qualified electrician, and the installation instructions are available as a download. When you pick a bulb, choose an E27 of no more than 60W; a warm white one sits well with the brown and gold.
