Description

Small, neat and honest about its job: a 10cm body in black with an antique copper finish, holding a single E27 lamp. A toggle switch sits on the fitting itself, so the light is turned on and off where you stand rather than from across the room. The proportions are modest, and the copper catches enough light to warm the black without becoming showy. It is one of the smaller wall lights we keep.

We reach for this where a table lamp would take up space that is not there: beside a bed, along a landing, or in an alcove by a reading chair. Because it switches at the fitting, it suits guest rooms and flats where adding a wall switch is not on the cards. Take a clear E27 globe if you want the lamp to be part of the look, or a pearl one for softer light. Dark glass will hold the light close; open glass will spread it. Anything up to 20W is fine, and it will dim with a compatible lamp and dimmer.

The antique copper against black sits well with dark joinery, exposed brick and warm paint colours. Dust it with a soft dry brush; leave polishes and damp cloths alone, as the aged surface is meant to look worn rather than buffed. Indoors and dry is where it belongs, so leave porches and shower rooms to fittings made for the wet. It carries a one year warranty. We also stock the matching Dreifa ceiling light in the same antique copper, along with matt black, matt white, pewter and satin nickel, if you want walls and ceiling to agree. Lamps are not included.
