Description

The Dovrin is a flush ceiling light with a wide brass dome shade, held close to the ceiling on a short stem below a round ceiling plate. A ring of slotted vents circles the gallery where the shade meets the stem, and the open dome sends the light of its single bulb down into the room. It is made of brass and glass, and it measures 21cm tall and 30cm across, compact enough for a low ceiling. It comes in seven finishes, Antique Brass, Antique Silver, Natural Brass, Matt Black, White, Polished Brass and Satin Brass, and in each of them you choose Clear or Opal glass.

Its IP65 rating means it suits a bathroom, and it works just as well in a hallway, where a light that sits tight to the ceiling keeps the headroom clear. The brass finishes, from the bright Polished Brass to the darker Antique Brass, sit happily in a period house or a plainer modern one, and Antique Silver gives the same shape a cooler tone. Matt Black and White are painted, in Matt Black RAL 9005 and White RAL 9010, and both carry a white inner shade under the dome.

Each light is made to order for you, and it is made in Ireland. Bulbs are sold separately: it takes one E27 bulb, up to 6.5W per bulb (LED), so choose an LED bulb within that limit. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase; bulbs are not covered. The Dovrin is a fitting for a qualified electrician to wire in to the mains, and it is worth having your bulb ready for the day it goes up. Our photographs show the Antique Brass finish.
