Description
The Dot is a 93mm recessed downlight with a tiltable inner ring and a matt black aluminium trim, taking a single GU10 bulb up to 50W (sold separately). The inner ring pivots within the fixed outer bezel, allowing the light beam to be angled towards walls, artwork, or specific surfaces rather than pointing straight down.
Designed for residential and commercial installation, the Dot suits kitchens, living rooms, hallways, offices and retail environments where directed accent lighting is needed without visible surface-mounted fixtures. The 45mm ceiling depth required for installation is shallower than many recessed fittings, making it compatible with standard joist spacing and plasterboard ceilings. The IP20 rating limits use to dry indoor areas only.
The matt black finish on the aluminium trim sits flush with the ceiling surface, giving a clean aperture with minimal visual intrusion when not lit. The tilt mechanism operates smoothly without requiring tools, allowing the beam direction to be adjusted after installation if room layouts or furniture positions change. Pairing the Dot with a narrow-beam GU10 LED creates focused accent light; pairing it with a wide-beam LED gives general ambient coverage.

Frequently Asked
What ceiling depth is required for installation?
The Dot requires a minimum 45mm ceiling depth. This is shallower than many recessed downlights, making it suitable for standard plasterboard ceilings with typical joist spacing. The cutout diameter is 78mm.
What bulb does it take?
The fitting takes a single GU10 bulb up to 50W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most installations use a 5-7W GU10 LED with either a narrow beam for accent lighting or a wide beam for general coverage.
Can the light direction be changed after installation?
Yes. The inner ring tilts within the fixed outer bezel, allowing the beam to be angled towards walls, surfaces or objects. The tilt mechanism operates without tools, so beam direction can be adjusted at any time.
Is it suitable for bathrooms?
No. The IP20 rating means the Dot is suitable for dry indoor areas only. Bathrooms require IP44 or higher rated fittings depending on zone placement.
