Description

The Doon is a single-light pendant with a shallow, wide-brimmed shade in polished brass. It comes in black or white, which sets the colour of the lampholder and cable; whichever you choose, the shade stays polished brass. The pendant is 9.5cm tall and 16cm across, a compact size, and it hangs on 1m of cable as standard. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and bulbs are sold separately, so the choice of bulb is yours. The open shade leaves the bulb on view beneath its brim, so the bulb becomes part of the look.

We see the Doon in a dining room, hung singly over a small table or in a row along a longer one, and in a living room, where it brings a bright touch of brass to a reading corner or a side table. The black version sets a crisp, graphic contrast against the gleaming brass shade, while the white version sits more quietly against pale ceilings and walls. Because it is only 16cm across, it never crowds a space, which also makes it easy to group. It is rated IP20, so it is for dry rooms only, and it is an indoor light.

Every Doon is made to order for you in Ireland, from brass, porcelain and ceramic, with the shade finished in polished brass. It is a Class I fitting that is wired in to the mains, so it is for a qualified electrician to install. The maker guarantees the fittings it makes for five years from the date of purchase, and bulbs are not covered.
