Description

This speckled stoneware mug says it plainly, with DOG MUM printed in black beneath a bold bone silhouette. Its white finish is scattered with fine black speckles all the way round, handle included, which gives it a relaxed, homely look on the kitchen shelf. The body tapers gently from a broad base to the rim, and the rounded handle leaves room for a comfortable grip. It holds 400ml and measures 9.3cm tall, 11.9cm wide and 9.1cm deep.

At 400ml it holds a generous brew, so it suits the first coffee of the morning as well as a slow cup of tea on the sofa with the dog curled up beside you. It belongs wherever the kettle lives: the kitchen, a home office desk or the side table by a favourite chair. As a gift, it is a warm way to thank the mum who walks the dog in all weathers, and a thoughtful Mother's Day present from the whole household, four-legged members included. For any mum whose dog is part of the family, it puts into words what she already knows.

The mug is made from stoneware, a type of ceramic, with the bone and lettering in black on the front and the back left plain apart from its speckles. For everyday care, we suggest washing it by hand in warm soapy water and drying it with a soft cloth, which keeps the print looking crisp; as with any ceramic, a knock against a hard worktop is best avoided. To give it, pair it with a bag of her favourite coffee or a few dog treats and wrap it up, and it makes a cheerful little parcel she will reach for every day.
