Description

Dew Drop is a set of indoor string lights: tiny LEDs sit along a fine silver steel wire, each one under a clear polycarbonate drop, so the wire almost disappears and the light seems to float. The string is 300cm long and weighs just 0.25KG, light enough to rest in a vase or wind around a mirror frame without dragging anything out of place. The LEDs are integrated and glow at 2000K, a very warm, amber light close to candlelight. It is rated IP20, and that settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms, never outdoors and never near water.

Because the wire is so fine, it is easy to coil inside a clear glass bottle, jar or lantern of your own, or to drape along a mantelpiece, a shelf or the top of a headboard. We like it in living rooms, bedrooms and dining rooms, and wound through a centrepiece on the table for an evening meal, where a soft, low light suits far better than a bright overhead lamp. It is a simple way to bring warmth to a dark corner, a bookcase or a dressing table, and because the wire is silver rather than green or black, it sits quietly against pale walls and glass.

The wire is steel with a silver finish, and the little drops are clear polycarbonate, a tough plastic that is far less likely to crack than glass. The LEDs are built into the string, so there are no bulbs to buy or change, and it runs at a low 4.5V DC. As an IP20 fitting it needs a dry spot indoors: keep it clear of steamy bathrooms, the kitchen sink and windowsills that gather condensation, and lay the wire out loosely so the drops spread evenly along the full 300cm.

Frequently Asked

Can the Dew Drop string lights go outdoors?

No. They are rated IP20, which means indoors and dry only, so keep them out of the garden, away from bathrooms and clear of anything wet.

How warm is the light?

Very warm. The integrated LEDs glow at 2000K, an amber tone close to candlelight and more golden than the white light of most household bulbs.

How long is the string?

The string is 300cm long and weighs 0.25KG, so it is easy to coil into a vase or drape along a shelf or mantelpiece.

What material is the wire?

The wire is steel with a silver finish, and each tiny LED sits under a clear polycarbonate drop, so the string looks delicate and stays light.

Can the bulbs be replaced?

There are no bulbs to replace. The LEDs are integrated into the string itself, so the whole length lights as one piece.
