Description

The Destro-E is an LED flush ceiling light made of curved arms that cross one another over a round base, each arm lined with a white diffuser. The body is aluminium and steel in a black finish and the diffusers are white plastic, so the black and white contrast is part of the design rather than an afterthought. It measures 37cm long, 35.5cm wide and 10cm high. The LEDs are integrated and give 1,600 lumens of cool white light at 4000K. It is rated IP20, which settles where it goes: indoors, in a dry room.

Because it is only 10cm high, it sits close to the ceiling, which is why we suggest it for rooms with lower ceilings where a pendant would take too much headroom. At 1,600 lumens it gives plenty of light for a living room, a kitchen, a hallway or a home office, and the cool white 4000K tone is crisp and clear, well suited to reading, cooking and desk work. The black frame draws a graphic outline against a pale ceiling even when it is not lit, and because the arms reach out in several directions, the light is spread across the room rather than coming from a single point.

The aluminium and steel body keeps the whole fitting light at 0.36KG, and the white plastic diffusers give an even glow along each arm. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is controlled from your wall switch. It runs on 220-240V mains and, as a wired-in light, it should be installed by a qualified electrician; the installation instructions come as a download. Its energy class is E. The LED and driver can be replaced by a specialist, so if either ever fails, the light can be repaired rather than replaced as a whole.
