The Dervette is an LED bathroom wall light in black: a slim bar 40cm long and 4cm high that stands 12cm out from the wall on a short arm from a neat rectangular wall box. The body is aluminium and plastic, and a white plastic diffuser runs the full length of the bar, softening the integrated LED behind it. It draws 7.4W and gives 900lm at 4000K, a crisp neutral light. Its IP44 rating means it is protected from splashing water, so it can go in a bathroom as well as any dry room indoors.

Fixed above a mirror, it lights your face from above, just what you want for shaving, make-up and a last check before you leave the house. At 40cm long it suits a small or medium mirror over a single basin, and the black finish sits well beside black taps, dark mirror frames and crisp white tiles. Being rated IP44, it suits a bathroom wall, and a qualified electrician will confirm the right zone. It works just as well over a dressing table, in a cloakroom or along a hallway, wherever you want a clean line of light on the wall.

The black finish covers both the bar and the wall box, and small black end caps close each end of the diffuser. Aluminium is a light metal that resists corrosion, a good match for a room that fills with steam. There is no switch on the light itself: it is switched at the wall, and as it is not dimmable, pair it with an ordinary wall switch rather than a dimmer. It runs on mains at 220-240V, 50/60Hz, carries energy class E and weighs 0.374KG packed.
