Description

The Dernessa is a fabric pendant light with a white drum shade 53cm in diameter, hung on a slim cord from a small round ceiling canopy. The canopy and the short rod that meets the top of the shade are steel in a satin nickel finish, which gives the metalwork a soft sheen rather than a bright mirror shine. Its overall height is 110cm. It takes one E27 bulb of up to 60W, and as the bulb is not included, you choose the warmth and brightness that suit the room. The IP20 rating settles where it belongs: indoors in dry rooms, so it is not for bathrooms or outdoor use.

With a 53cm diameter, this is a generous shade, wide enough to hang centrally over a dining table or to serve as the main light in a living room or bedroom. The fabric drum softens the bulb into an even, gentle glow, so the light falls kindly on faces around the table rather than glaring.
