Description

Denver is a wall light in black. A black cone shade with a rounded shoulder, carried on a bright chrome flexible arm that comes off a round black wall plate and bends in a long easy curve. The cone is lined in white and its rim is cut square, so the mouth reads as a clean bright disc when the lamp is on. A chrome switch knob stands out on the face of the wall plate, below where the arm enters. The plate is a plain round disc with one visible fixing screw on its rim. The arm holds whatever shape it is pushed into. The arm is a flexible gooseneck, so the head stays where it is bent.

A wall light earns its place by leaving the surface below it clear. Beside a bed where there is no room for a table lamp, over a work bench, up a stairwell or either side of a mirror, it gives directed light without taking up any space. Fix it at about 1.5m from the floor beside a bed and a little higher flanking a mirror, so the light falls on the face rather than into the eyes of anyone standing in front of it. There is a rotary ON-OFF-ON switch on the backplate, so it is reached at the fitting rather than by following the flex down.

The holder is E14 and takes up to 40W. It plugs into an ordinary socket, so it needs no electrician. It is class II, double insulated, so it needs no earth, and it is rated IP20 for dry indoor rooms.

Which bulb does it take?

An E14 lamp up to 40W. Bulbs are supplied separately so you can choose the brightness and colour you want.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, on a compatible dimmer, provided the lamp you fit is a dimmable one. The fitting has no dimmer of its own.

Does it need an electrician?

No. It comes on a flex with a moulded plug and goes into an ordinary socket.

Where is the switch?

There is rotary ON-OFF-ON switch on the backplate.

Does it need an earth?

No. It is class II, double insulated, so it is wired live and neutral only.

Can it go in a bathroom?

No. It is IP20, which covers dry interior rooms only. A bathroom needs IP44 or better.
