Description

A small white converter that lets a fitting made for candle lamps take a full-size screw lamp instead. The E14 base threads into the existing lampholder and the E27 socket on top takes the lamp. At 33mm across and 68mm tall it stays close to the lampholder rather than standing proud, and the plain white body goes largely unnoticed against a white flex or tucked inside a shade.

It answers a common problem: the fitting you like was made for the smaller screw lampholder, and the lamp you want is the larger one. Reproduction wall lights, older table lamps and small pendants often turn up with a candle lampholder, and replacing a good fitting for the sake of a lamp is a waste. We stock it beside our lampholders and flex for that reason, and it is what we suggest when someone has found the right shade but the wrong thread. It suits anyone keeping an older fitting in service, or standardising so the lamps match across a room. Low-wattage LED lamps suit it best.

The body is white throughout, plain and unfussy, so it reads as part of the fitting rather than an addition. Isolate the circuit before you change a lamp, and keep the contacts dry; dust lifts off the white body with a dry cloth and nothing else. It carries a one year warranty. The wider range works the same idea in other combinations, including E14 to G9 and E14 to GU10, plus converters that begin at a B22 or E27 lampholder, alongside inline dimmers in black, white and clear. Lamps are not included.
