Description

The Dawn is a 455mm square semi-flush ceiling light built around a rectangular brass frame that suspends four opal glass globe shades, each housing an E14 bulb (sold separately). The frame sits 150mm below the ceiling on a matt black canopy, with the lower brass rails mirrored in the top rails to create a double-frame effect. The opal glass diffuses the light from each bulb while the brass frame remains visible as a geometric accent.

Designed for rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.6m where a full pendant would hang too low, the Dawn works over dining tables, in hallways, bedrooms and above kitchen islands where headroom matters. The 455mm footprint suits rooms of 10-15m² without dominating the ceiling plane, and the open frame allows light to spread upward onto the ceiling as well as downward into the room. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces.

The brass finish has a satin tone that sits between polished and antique, pairing with both warm wood interiors and cooler greys without clashing. The matt black canopy and bulb holders provide contrast against the brass rails, defining the geometry when viewed from below. Each of the four E14 bulbs can be individually dimmed if paired with a compatible dimmer, allowing the light level to be adjusted from full task brightness to low ambient. The combined glass and metal construction weighs approximately 2kg, requiring standard ceiling fixing into a joist or plasterboard anchor.

Is the Dawn dimmable?

Yes, the fitting is compatible with dimmer switches when paired with dimmable E14 bulbs. Both the bulbs and the dimmer must support dimming — standard non-dimmable LED bulbs will not dim and may flicker or fail if used with a dimmer.

What bulbs does it take and are they included?

The Dawn takes four E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs, each up to 40W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with 4-6W LED candle or golf ball bulbs in warm white (2700K-3000K) for a comfortable ambient light.

What ceiling height does it suit?

The fitting projects 150mm from the ceiling including the canopy and sits best in rooms with ceiling heights between 2.3m and 2.6m. Below 2.3m it may feel low in circulation areas; above 2.6m a longer-drop pendant might be more proportionate.

Can it be installed in a bathroom?

No. The IP20 rating means the fitting is not protected against moisture and must only be used in dry indoor spaces away from direct water contact, steam or condensation.
