Description

The Davos is a rectangular outdoor LED wall light with a rust brown powder-coated aluminium body measuring 200mm wide by 100mm high. The fitting houses four integrated LEDs totalling 24W output at 3000K warm white, delivering 2200 lumens through bi-directional apertures at the top and bottom of the housing. Light washes upward and downward across the wall surface without direct forward throw.

Designed for exterior walls on residential properties, patios, terraces and covered entryways, the Davos carries an IP54 rating against dust ingress and water spray from any direction. The rust brown finish pairs with brick, stone, timber cladding and weathered metal surfaces in both traditional and contemporary settings. The bi-directional light output emphasises wall textures and creates vertical grazing effects on render, brickwork and rough stone.

The rust brown coating is a powder-coated finish over aluminium, providing corrosion resistance in coastal and high-humidity environments. The 100mm projection from the wall keeps the fitting compact while the rectangular profile gives more presence than a cylindrical wall light of similar wattage. At 1.1kg the Davos mounts to standard masonry fixings and timber-framed walls with appropriate plugs. The integrated LED is non-replaceable but rated for 25,000+ hours of operation.

Can this be used in exposed coastal locations?

The IP54 rating provides protection against dust and water spray, and the powder-coated aluminium resists corrosion. However, in direct salt-spray exposure (within 50m of the shoreline) the rust brown finish may show accelerated weathering over time compared to stainless steel fittings.

Is the LED replaceable if it fails?

No. The integrated LED is sealed within the housing and cannot be replaced. The LED is rated for 25,000+ hours of operation, which equates to approximately 10-15 years of typical evening use. Mantra provides a 3-year warranty covering LED failure within that period.

Does it need to be wired by a qualified electrician?

Yes. The Davos connects to mains 220-240V supply and must be installed by a competent person in accordance with current IET Wiring Regulations. The fitting requires outdoor-rated cable and appropriate cable glands at the entry point.

What type of wall mounting is required?

The back plate fixes to the wall with screws through mounting holes. On masonry walls, use appropriate plugs rated for the 1.1kg weight plus wind load. On timber-framed walls, fix directly into studs or use cavity fixings rated for outdoor use.
