Description

The Davos is a 100mm cube outdoor wall light finished in rust brown with an integrated dimmable 6W LED producing 1100 lumens at 2700K warm white. The fitting mounts flush to the wall with a 100mm projection, casting light both upward and downward through apertures at the top and bottom of the cube to create grazing wash effects on the wall surface.

Designed for outdoor use on residential facades, porch entries, garden walls and outdoor living areas, the Davos carries an IP54 rating against dust and water spray from any direction. The brown powder-coated aluminium finish resists corrosion and weathers to a matte surface that sits comfortably against timber cladding, rendered masonry, natural stone and rustic brick. The up/down light distribution highlights vertical surfaces and architectural texture without glare at eye level.

The integrated LED is dimmable when paired with a suitable leading-edge or trailing-edge dimmer on the mains circuit. This allows the output to be reduced from full 1100-lumen brightness down to a low-level accent suitable for evening outdoor entertaining or pathway orientation. The 100mm cube profile gives the fitting a compact footprint that works equally well as a single accent or in multiples spaced along a wall run.

The rust brown finish provides a warm earthy tone that differentiates the Davos from the typical black and grey finishes saturating the outdoor wall light category. The powder coating is applied to aluminium body panels that are assembled into the cube housing, keeping the weight to 0.62kg for straightforward surface mounting on standard masonry fixings.

Is the Davos suitable for coastal locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water spray but does not guarantee resistance to salt corrosion in direct coastal exposure. For properties within 500m of the sea, a stainless steel or marine-grade finish is recommended. The powder-coated aluminium will perform well in standard UK outdoor conditions away from direct salt spray.

What type of dimmer does it need?

The integrated LED requires a trailing-edge or leading-edge dimmer rated for LED loads. Check the dimmer is compatible with the 12W load before installation. Not all household dimmers support low-wattage LED fittings, so confirm compatibility with the dimmer manufacturer if uncertain.

Can it be mounted vertically or horizontally?

The Davos is designed for vertical wall mounting with the up/down apertures aligned to cast light vertically. Mounting it horizontally would direct the light sideways rather than up and down the wall, reducing the grazing effect on the surface.

Does the brown finish fade in sunlight?

Powder-coated aluminium finishes are UV-stable and resist fading better than painted surfaces. Some weathering and tonal shift may occur over several years in direct sun exposure, but the rust brown tone is less prone to visible fading than lighter colours.
