Description

The Davos is a 100mm cube outdoor wall light with a sand white powder-coated aluminium body housing a dimmable 12W LED module that outputs 1100 lumens at 2700K. The fitting mounts directly to an exterior wall and casts light both upward and downward through two frosted acrylic lenses on opposite faces of the cube, creating dual light washes on the wall surface.

Designed for residential front doors, garage approaches, patio walls and commercial building entrances, the Davos provides functional outdoor lighting with architectural presence. The IP54 rating protects against dust ingress and splashing water from any direction, making the fitting suitable for exposed wall positions under eaves or within open porches. The 100mm cube projects 100mm from the wall, creating a shadow gap that separates the fitting from the mounting surface.

The sand white finish is a bright neutral off-white that coordinates with rendered masonry, painted timber weatherboard and white UPVC window frames common in UK residential construction. The aluminium body weighs 0.61kg and mounts to a standard outdoor-rated back box or direct to masonry with wall plugs. Dimming requires a compatible LED dimmer on the lighting circuit — the integrated LED responds to phase-cut dimming protocols but performance depends on the specific dimmer model installed.

Is the Davos suitable for fully exposed outdoor locations?

The IP54 rating protects against dust and water splashing from any direction, so the fitting works in semi-exposed positions such as under eaves, within porches, or on walls with roof overhangs. Fully exposed locations with direct rainfall onto the fitting face over extended periods may reduce the lifespan of the seals — for those positions an IP65 or IP66 rated product is more appropriate.

What dimmer is required?

The integrated LED requires a trailing-edge or universal LED-compatible dimmer. Not all dimmers work with all LED modules — if you experience flickering or a limited dimming range, the dimmer model may not be compatible. Contact us for specific dimmer recommendations before installation.

Does the light shine forward as well as up and down?

No. The Davos is a bi-directional wall light with frosted acrylic lenses on the top and bottom faces of the cube only. Light is cast upward onto the wall above the fitting and downward onto the wall below. The front, back and side faces of the cube are opaque, so no light projects directly forward into the space in front of the wall.

What size back box or fixing is needed?

The Davos can be wired through a standard outdoor-rated back box or mounted directly to masonry using wall plugs and screws. If using a back box, ensure it is rated for outdoor use and sealed to prevent moisture ingress behind the fitting.
