The Dasessa is a table lamp that pairs a white steel bell shade with a round wooden base, joined by a white gooseneck-style stem that curves up from the base and holds the shade out to one side. A small wooden cap sits on top of the shade, so the warm brown of the wood shows at both ends of the lamp. It stands 49cm tall, 25cm long and 12.5cm wide, on a base 16cm across, which keeps its footprint small on a busy desk. It takes an E27 bulb up to 40W, and the bulb is not included, so you can choose the colour and brightness that suit the room. The IP20 rating settles where it goes: indoors and dry, on a desk or table away from water.

We think it suits a home office, a study corner or a bedside table, anywhere you want light aimed at what you are doing rather than spread around the room. The bell shade faces downwards, so the light falls on the page, the keyboard or the book in your hands.
