The Daphne is a 381mm wide pendant light with a shallow conical shade in matt black metal and a brass-finished interior. The shade's rim features hand-applied rope detailing that runs around the entire inner circumference, creating a textured band visible when the pendant is lit. A single E27 bulb (sold separately) sits inside the shade, directing light downward onto the brass interior, which reflects and warms the output before it exits the fitting.

Designed for dining tables, kitchen islands and central living zones, the Daphne provides focused downlighting across a 1.2-1.5m surface area when hung 700-900mm above the worktop or table. The adjustable drop ranges from 356mm minimum to 1378mm maximum, allowing the pendant to be set at the correct height for ceiling heights between 2.4m and 3.5m. The matt black exterior and brass interior contrast creates visual separation between the fitting and lighter ceilings, while the rope texture softens the hard-edged geometric profile.

The shade measures 159mm in height with a broad 381mm diameter, giving the fitting a low, wide silhouette that anchors open-plan spaces without overwhelming sightlines across the room. What bulb does it take?

The Daphne takes a standard E27 (Edison screw) bulb up to 60W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with a warm-white LED bulb between 6-10W and 2700K-3000K for dining or task lighting. The brass interior warms the output, so cooler bulbs (4000K) can still produce acceptable tones.

What surface area does it light?

The 381mm diameter shade covers approximately 1.2-1.5m of table or island surface when hung 700-900mm above the worktop. For larger tables (1.8m+), two Daphne pendants spaced 1m apart provide more even coverage than a single central fitting.

Is the drop adjustable?

Yes. The cable and stem allow adjustment between 356mm and 1378mm during installation. The pendant ships at maximum drop and can be shortened by cutting the cable and adjusting the stem length. Once installed, the drop cannot be altered without removing the fitting.

What is the rope detailing made from?

The rope-textured rim is metal finished to resemble wrapped natural fibre. It is not actual rope — the texture is created through hand-applied finishing during manufacture. This means it can be wiped clean with a damp cloth without the degradation that occurs with real jute or hemp.
