Description
The Dallas is a 60cm semi-flush ceiling light with twelve smoky glass globes arranged on polished chrome arms extending from a central chrome canopy. Each globe houses a G9 bulb (sold separately) rated at 28W, providing ambient lighting across the 12 points. The glass is tinted smoky grey, diffusing the light through the colour while the globes themselves remain visible when unlit.
Designed for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3-2.6m where a full chandelier would hang too low, the Dallas projects 20cm from the ceiling and spreads 60cm across. This makes it suitable for living rooms, dining areas and bedrooms where ceiling space is limited but a multi-point light source is needed. The semi-flush design keeps the fitting close to the ceiling while the molecular arrangement of the globes provides visual interest without requiring the vertical drop of a pendant.
The chrome frame is polished to a mirror finish, reflecting light from the bulbs and picking up ambient daylight in the room. The smoky glass globes are mouth-blown, so each one carries slight variation in tonal depth and internal bubble patterns. The IP20 rating limits the fitting to dry indoor spaces — it is not suitable for bathrooms or outdoor use.
The Dallas is part of Maytoni's modern collection and comes with a 2-year manufacturer's guarantee. The fitting weighs approximately 3.5kg fully assembled and requires secure fixing to a ceiling joist or suitable anchor in plasterboard ceilings.

Frequently Asked
What bulbs does the Dallas take?
The fitting takes twelve G9 capsule bulbs, each rated at up to 28W. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users fit G9 LED bulbs between 2-5W for lower running costs and longer life. Choose 2700K-3000K warm white for ambient lighting or 4000K if used in a workspace.
Is it suitable for low ceilings?
Yes. The Dallas projects 20cm from the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above. In a 2.4m-high room the base of the globes will sit at approximately 2.2m from the floor, clearing head height in most residential settings.
Can it be used with a dimmer switch?
Dimmer compatibility depends on the bulbs fitted. If using dimmable G9 LED bulbs, pair them with an LED-compatible trailing-edge dimmer. Standard G9 halogen bulbs are dimmable on most household dimmers, but check the bulb specification before purchase.
How is the fitting installed?
The Dallas mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose or metal back box. The combined weight of the fitting and twelve bulbs is approximately 3.5-4kg, so installation into a ceiling joist or suitable plasterboard anchor is required. A qualified electrician should carry out the installation.
