Description

The Knightsbridge DALI control module is a 30mm diameter by 111mm polycarbonate accessory that adds addressable DALI control to POTHB high bay LED fixtures. The module connects in-line between the mains supply and the high bay driver, allowing the fixture to be assigned a unique address and control group within a DALI lighting control system.

Designed for commercial and industrial installations requiring centralised lighting management, the DALI module enables individual fixtures or groups of fixtures to be controlled from a single interface. This allows warehouses, factories, retail units and distribution centres to organise high bay lighting into zones corresponding to working areas, aisles, loading bays or storage sections. Each zone can be dimmed, switched or scheduled independently without rewiring.

The module integrates with third-party building energy management systems (BEMS) through standard DALI protocols, providing data logging, occupancy-based control and energy monitoring at fixture level. The polycarbonate housing is IP20 rated and mounts inside the high bay canopy or between the fixture and ceiling rose depending on the specific POTHB model. The 111mm length accommodates the internal DALI driver circuitry and terminal block for incoming mains and outgoing fixture connections.

What is DALI control?

DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) is a two-wire protocol that allows each fixture in a lighting installation to be individually addressed and controlled. Unlike traditional switching, DALI enables dimming, scheduling and grouping of fixtures without additional control wiring.

Does it require special wiring?

The module connects in-line between the mains supply and the high bay driver using standard electrical terminations. A separate two-core DALI bus cable (not included) runs between modules to connect them to the central DALI controller.

Can it be retrofitted to existing POTHB fixtures?

Yes, provided the fixture is accessible and the canopy has sufficient internal space to accommodate the 30mm diameter by 111mm module. Retrofitting requires isolating the mains supply and accessing the fixture wiring.
