Description
The Dakar is a ceiling spotlight bar with four heads set along a gently curving arm, held by a round ceiling plate at its centre. The body is steel in a satin nickel finish, and each head carries a white glass shade. It measures 65cm long, 10cm wide and 13cm high, so it spreads light along a stretch of ceiling rather than gathering it in one spot. It takes four E14 bulbs of up to 40W each, and the bulbs are not included, so you can pick the colour of light you prefer. It is rated IP20, which settles where it belongs: indoors, in dry rooms.
Four lights on one fitting make the Dakar a good choice for a kitchen, a hallway, a landing or a living room where a single pendant leaves the corners dim. The curved arm looks softer than a straight bar, so it suits a room with traditional or relaxed furnishings as well as a plainer modern space. Satin nickel sits comfortably beside brushed steel appliances, chrome handles and grey or white walls, while the white glass keeps the look light. At 65cm long, it works well over a kitchen island or along the line of a corridor.
The shades are glass finished with a wiping technique, which gives the white a soft, gently varied texture that softens the light from each bulb. There is no switch on the fitting itself, so it is switched at the wall like any standard ceiling light. It runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz and, as a light wired into the ceiling, it should be installed by a qualified electrician. The installation instructions are available as a download. Its packed weight is 1.193KG. Have four E14 bulbs of 40W or less ready for the day it is fitted, and the room will be bright from the first evening.

Frequently Asked
Can the Dakar spotlight go in a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which means it is meant for indoor rooms that stay dry, so we would keep it away from bathrooms and anywhere it could be splashed.
Which bulbs does it take?
It takes four E14 bulbs with a maximum of 40W each. The bulbs are not included, so you can choose the colour of light that suits your room.
How big is the Dakar ceiling spotlight?
It is 65cm long, 10cm wide and 13cm high, with the four heads spaced along a curved arm either side of a round ceiling plate.
Does it have its own switch?
No, there is no switch on the fitting. It is switched at the wall, just like a standard ceiling light, so the wall switch controls all four lights at once.
What material are the shades?
The shades are white glass finished with a wiping technique, which gives them a soft, gently varied texture, and they sit on a steel body in satin nickel.
