Dads Garage Super Service Open All Hours Plaque - Blue

This blue printed plaque spells out a cheerful promise from Dads Garage: super service, open all hours. The words run along its length in white, with the first two set in tall, hand-drawn capitals and the rest in neat, smaller type stacked in two lines at one end. Little white stars dot the soft pastel blue face between the words, giving it a light, playful look rather than the heavy feel of a real workshop sign. It is a slim rectangle, 40cm wide, 5cm high and 2cm deep, so it reads clearly from across a room without taking over a shelf.

We think it suits any dad who is forever fixing bikes, tinkering with the car or mending whatever has broken. It makes a thoughtful Father's Day gift, and its long, low shape sits happily along a mantelpiece, a bookshelf, a desk in a home office or the windowsill of a workroom. It stands upright on its long edge, so there is no need for a hook or a nail in the wall. Set it beside his toolbox, his model cars or a framed family photo, and it becomes a gentle nod to all the jobs he takes on for everyone at home.

The lettering and stars are printed onto the blue face, and the edges have a soft, lightly worn look that suits its easy-going message. To keep it looking its best, simply dust it now and then with a soft, dry cloth, and keep it somewhere dry and out of strong direct sunlight so the colour stays fresh. For Father's Day, wrap it on its own or tuck it in beside a card and a bag of his favourite sweets, and it will raise a smile every time he walks past.
