Description

This wooden photo frame for dad carries a string of bunting across the top, its five pennants spelling out DADDY, so there is no doubt who the picture is for. The frame is painted a soft, pale blue with a gentle wood grain showing through, and the bunting pennants are left in a natural wood tone with white lettering, strung on a length of rustic twine. Beneath the window runs the message "You are the greatest of them all" in white script, and a small illustration of red toadstools, a snail and leafy sprigs sits in the lower left corner. It holds one 6 x 4in photo in a rectangular landscape window, and the front measures 26.1cm on its longer side and 18.6cm on its shorter, with a depth of 2.3cm.

A freestanding frame needs no wall: the stand on the back lets it sit on a desk, a bedside table, a bookshelf or a mantelpiece, wherever dad will see it each day. We think it makes a thoughtful Father's Day gift, and it works as well as a birthday present from the children, the whole family or a partner, with a favourite photo already in place. A recent snapshot, a holiday picture or a treasured one from years ago all suit it, and the cheerful colours sit happily in a home office, a living room or a bedroom.

The back panel is held by four turn clips, so changing the picture is quick: turn the clips, lift the panel, set your photo in place and close it up again. Like any printed wooden piece, it needs only light care: dust it with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from damp. For gifting, slip in a photo of dad with the little ones before you wrap it, and he has a keepsake ready to sit on his desk from the day he opens it.
