The Cygnet is a 600mm diameter semi-flush ceiling light built around ten G4 bulbs suspended within a polished chrome armature that radiates from a central ceiling mount. Each of the ten chrome arms carries a handcrafted clear glass form filled with either black or white gloss resin, creating organic teardrop shapes that contrast with the precision of the metal frame. Between these glass elements hang faceted crystal pyramids and smooth glass beads on fine wires, catching and refracting light from multiple angles.

The fitting drops 480mm from the ceiling at its lowest point, with adjustable cable allowing a minimum drop of 820mm and a maximum of 1100mm during installation. This makes the Cygnet suitable for standard 2.4m ceilings in living rooms, dining rooms and bedrooms where a statement ceiling light is needed without the full drop of a traditional chandelier. The semi-flush mount conceals the cable entry and provides a clean junction with the ceiling while the sculptural arms extend outward and downward.

The combination of polished chrome, black and white glass, and clear faceted crystal creates a high-contrast composition that works in both monochrome and colour-accent interiors. Each glass element is individually crafted, so subtle variations in shape and resin density occur between pieces, giving the fitting a less uniform appearance than mass-produced alternatives. The chrome armature provides structural support while remaining visually lightweight, allowing the glass and crystal to dominate the overall form.

The Cygnet includes ten 20W G4 halogen bulbs and requires a trailing-edge dimmer for dimming control. The fitting weighs 5.8kg and mounts to a standard UK ceiling rose with adequate joist support. When lit, the combination of direct light from the ten bulbs and the refracted light through the crystal droplets creates layered illumination across ceilings and walls.

Is the Cygnet compatible with LED or CFL bulbs?

No. The Cygnet uses G4 halogen capsule bulbs only and is not compatible with LED or CFL alternatives. Ten 20W G4 halogen bulbs are included with the fitting.

What ceiling height is required?

The fitting has a minimum drop of 820mm from ceiling to lowest point, which works in rooms with 2.4m ceilings or higher. The drop can be extended to 1100mm during installation if needed for taller rooms.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, but only with a trailing-edge dimmer specifically rated for G4 halogen loads. Standard leading-edge dimmers designed for incandescent bulbs may cause flickering or buzzing.

How much does it weigh and does it need additional ceiling support?
