Description

The Cub is a 1030mm linear pendant from Mantra featuring four opal glass globes mounted on a matt black bar with brushed gold banding around each globe. An integrated 32W LED system inside the bar delivers 2400 lumens of warm 3000K light distributed through the four globes, creating diffused ambient illumination across a 120-degree beam angle.

Designed for kitchen islands, dining tables and office conference areas, the Cub works in rooms with ceiling heights of 2.4m or higher. The adjustable drop ranges from 140mm to 1200mm, allowing the fitting to be set 700-900mm above a worktop or dining surface depending on ceiling height. The 1030mm length suits island worktops between 1500-2200mm long, providing balanced light distribution across the surface without clustering or over-lighting either end.

The matt black bar contrasts with the brushed gold banding that frames each opal globe, giving the fitting a defined mid-century modern character that pairs well with brass kitchen fixtures, gold cabinet hardware and warm-toned wood finishes. The opal glass globes soften the LED source and prevent glare when viewed from seated positions. At 2.9kg the fitting requires a ceiling rose rated for pendant loads and the non-dimmable LED driver sits inside the ceiling canopy.

Is the Cub dimmable?

No. The integrated LED driver is non-dimmable and outputs a fixed 2400 lumens at 3000K when switched on. If dimming is required, consider looking at Mantra's other linear pendant ranges that offer dimmable LED options.

What island length does it suit?

The 1030mm bar length works well over kitchen islands between 1500-2200mm long. For islands longer than 2200mm, consider pairing two Cub fittings spaced 800-1000mm apart for balanced coverage.

How is the drop adjusted?

The suspension cables are adjustable on installation, allowing the fitting to be set anywhere between 140mm and 1200mm from the ceiling. Once installed, the drop is fixed unless the fitting is taken down and the cables re-adjusted.

Can the globes be replaced if damaged?

The opal glass globes are separate components mounted onto the bar. Replacement globes can be ordered through Mantra's spares service if one is damaged. The LED itself is integrated into the bar and is not user-replaceable.
