Crystal Skye 12 Light Island Chandelier - Chrome

The Crystal Skye is an 894mm island chandelier built on a chrome oval frame with triangular crystal prisms arranged along the perimeter and a central mirror-finished base plate. Twelve 3W LED G9 bulbs (included) sit within the frame, casting light through the crystal prisms to create reflected patterns across ceilings and walls. The fitting measures 894mm long by 298mm wide by 134mm high at the canopy, making it suitable for kitchen islands, dining tables and open-plan living spaces where the length of the fitting can follow the length of the surface below.

The drop is adjustable on installation from a minimum of 305mm to a maximum of 1993mm, allowing the chandelier to be set at the appropriate height above a worktop (typically 700-800mm) or dining table (typically 750-900mm) depending on ceiling height. The IP44 rating means the fitting is splash-resistant and approved for bathroom installation, including zones 2 and 3 where moisture may be present but direct water jets are not expected. The chrome finish and crystal prisms resist tarnishing in humid environments better than lacquered or painted finishes.

Each triangular crystal prism is facet-cut to catch and refract the LED light from multiple angles, while the rounded crystals at the base of the frame add depth to the reflected light pattern. The chrome oval frame provides structural support for the crystal array without interrupting the light path, so the fitting reads as a cascade of illuminated crystal rather than a frame with decoration. The twelve 3W LEDs deliver 3000K warm white light with a combined output comparable to traditional 36W halogen, providing both ambient and task lighting over a 2-3m island or table length.

Are the LED bulbs replaceable?

Yes. The fitting uses twelve standard G9 LED bulbs rated at 3W each, supplied with the chandelier. When a bulb eventually fails it can be replaced with any standard G9 LED up to 3W maximum wattage. The 3000K colour temperature matches most warm white household LED bulbs.

What island or table length does it suit?

The 894mm length suits kitchen islands or dining tables between 2m and 3m long. For longer islands or tables, consider pairing two Crystal Skye fittings end-to-end with staggered canopy positions, or choose a longer linear chandelier from the Kichler range.

Can it be used in a bathroom?

Yes. The IP44 rating certifies the fitting for bathroom zones 2 and 3, where splashing may occur but direct water jets are not expected. This makes it suitable for installation above a freestanding bath or in an open bathroom layout, but not directly inside a shower enclosure (which requires IP65 or higher).

How is the crystal cleaned?

Turn off the power at the consumer unit before cleaning. Wipe each crystal prism gently with a dry microfibre cloth to remove dust. For fingerprints or water spots, a barely-damp cloth with distilled water is acceptable. Avoid sprays, polishes and abrasive cloths which may scratch the faceted surfaces or leave residue that dulls the refraction.
