Description

The Corbena is a semi-flush ceiling light that pairs a black steel frame with a band of natural woven rattan. A round black ceiling plate holds a dome of slim steel wires, and the rattan wraps around the widest part of the dome before an open black frame finishes the lower rim. It measures 38cm across and 26.5cm high, so it sits close to the ceiling rather than hanging low into the room. It takes a single E27 bulb up to 60W, which is not included, and it is rated IP20, which means it is made for dry rooms indoors.

Because it is semi-flush, it suits rooms with standard or lower ceilings where a pendant would hang too close to heads: a hallway, a landing, a bedroom or a cosy living room. The mix of black metal and warm rattan sits comfortably in a rustic, industrial or relaxed natural scheme, and it works just as well over a dining table. As it is rated IP20, it belongs out of bathrooms and away from anywhere it could get wet. What you gain is the texture of a woven shade with the tidy footprint of a ceiling-hugging fitting, so the room feels finished without giving up headroom.

The frame is steel in a black finish, and the shade band is rattan in its natural colour, woven around the vertical wires so the two read as one piece.
