Description
Three opal white glass shades hang beneath an antique brass frame, spreading light across a 46cm span instead of sending it down in a single column. The opal glass softens what the lamps give out, and the aged warmth of the brass keeps the fitting calm against a plain white ceiling. It is made to sit close overhead, with the option of a longer drop where the room allows it. Each shade takes a golf ball lamp on an E14 socket.
We would fit this on a landing, in a hallway, or in a bedroom where a full-length pendant would hang into the path of a door or a head. It is a sensible size over a small dining table as well, and it suits kitchens where you want light spread wide rather than pooled in a single spot. Dimming is possible, so long as the lamps you fit are dimmable ones; a separate dimmer switch is needed. An earth connection is required.
The frame is metal in an antique brass finish, paired with opal white glass, and the two take everyday dust without showing much of it. Wipe the glass with a barely damp cloth when it starts to look dull and dry it properly; the brass prefers nothing wetter than a dry duster, which keeps the depth in the finish. Switch off at the wall and let the glass and lamps cool before you start. Within the range we also stock the same shape in satin nickel, a wider five light version in this brass, and matching wall lights if you want the finish carried through at eye level. Lamps are not included. It carries a one year warranty.

Frequently Asked
What lamps does it take?
Three E14 lamps, up to 40W each. LED golf ball lamps are our usual choice here, and they sit neatly inside the opal shades.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, with dimmable lamps and a compatible dimmer switch. Neither the lamps nor a dimmer are supplied with the fitting.
How low will it hang?
The drop adjusts between 450mm and 1450mm, so it can sit tight to the ceiling or drop lower over a table.
How big is it overall?
It measures 460mm across and 410mm in height, and weighs 1.9kg.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No. It is rated IP20, which suits dry rooms such as hallways, bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.
How should the opal glass be cleaned?
With the power off and the fitting cool, use a barely damp cloth on the glass and dry it straight away. Keep moisture away from the brass and use a dry duster there.
