Description
Three opal white glass shades sit beneath a satin nickel frame, spaced around a broad circular plate so the light spreads across a room rather than pooling in one spot. The glass is a soft milky white that hides the lamp within and gives a gentle, even glow. At 46cm across it reads as a generous fitting with very little drop, holding close to the ceiling line. Each lamp holder takes a small E14 golf ball, and dimming is possible where dimmable lamps are fitted.
It suits rooms with ordinary ceiling heights, where a hanging pendant would sit too low for comfort: hallways, landings, bedrooms, a kitchen-diner or a modest sitting room. We reach for this sort of fitting when someone wants more than one light source overhead but no long stems or cords in the way. Having the shades spread across the width gives useful general light for a mid-sized space, and the opal glass keeps glare down where people sit and look upward. Kept to dry rooms indoors, it runs from the ordinary household mains.
The frame is metal in a satin nickel finish, a low-shine silver tone that sits quietly against white ceilings and alongside chrome or nickel door furniture. The shades are opal glass with a decent heft to them. Keep it looking well by dusting the glass with a dry microfibre cloth, and lift fingerprints from the nickel with a barely damp cloth followed by a dry one, leaving sprays and scouring creams well alone. It carries a one year warranty. We stock the same design in antique brass, and there are matching wall lights in both finishes if you want a room to hang together. Lamps are not included, so choose your golf balls to suit the warmth of light you like.

Frequently Asked
What lamps does it take?
It takes three E14 candle-size lamps, up to 40W each. LED golf ball lamps are the sensible choice here.
Can I put it on a dimmer?
Yes, provided you fit dimmable lamps in all three holders. Standard non-dimmable LEDs will flicker or buzz on a dimmer.
How much space does it need below the ceiling?
It stands 330mm tall and measures 460mm across, so it keeps close to the ceiling and leaves headroom in rooms with standard heights.
Is the glass clear or frosted?
The shades are opal white glass, so the lamp inside is not visible and the light comes through softly diffused.
How do I clean the shades?
Dust them with a dry soft cloth. For marks, use a slightly damp cloth and dry straight after, avoiding household sprays and abrasives on both the glass and the nickel.
Is it suitable for a bathroom?
No, it is intended for dry indoor rooms such as bedrooms, hallways and living spaces rather than bathrooms or covered outdoor areas.
