Description

A ring of clear crystal set into an antique brass frame, held close to the ceiling on a short stem so the fitting reads as a band of sparkle rather than a hanging shape. Four E14 lamps sit inside the ring, spaced evenly so light travels round the whole circle and catches every drop. At 48cm across it has presence without bulk, and the semi flush build keeps the whole thing tucked up out of head height.

This is the one we point people towards when a chandelier would hang too low: hallways with a standard ceiling, a landing above the stairs, a bedroom over the foot of the bed, or a small dining room where you want glitter but no obstruction. It works with dimmable lamps if you want the crystal to glow softly of an evening rather than blaze, though a compatible dimmer and dimmable lamps are needed for that. We would choose LED candle lamps here, since the clear glass of a candle shape looks right seen through crystal.

The frame carries an antique brass finish, warm and slightly aged against the Diyas Select crystal, which is clear throughout. Crystal shows dust sooner than metal does, so an occasional wipe with a dry lint free cloth over the drops, done with the power off and the lamps cold, is all it asks; skip sprays and polishes, which leave a film. Keep it to dry rooms indoors rather than bathrooms or covered porches. It carries a one year warranty. The Coniston ring runs well beyond this size, so if the room is bigger there are wider flush versions with more lamps, and a long linear version for a table or an island.
