Description

The Coniston is a 480mm semi-flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome circular frame with eight E14 bulb fittings hidden beneath cascading rows of faceted crystal droplets. The crystal layers hang from the chrome ring in concentric tiers, creating a dome-shaped cascade that diffuses and refracts light from the bulbs above. The semi-flush mounting positions the fitting 270mm below the ceiling, making it suitable for rooms with ceiling heights of 2.3m or above where a full pendant would sit too low.

Designed for hallways, dining rooms, bedrooms and living rooms that need decorative ambient lighting without requiring high ceilings, the Coniston distributes light across a wide horizontal area rather than directing it downwards in a focused beam. The eight E14 bulbs (sold separately) sit above the crystal cascade, so their light passes through and around the faceted droplets before entering the room. The polished chrome finish on the frame and ceiling canopy reflects both natural and artificial light, adding brightness to the fitting itself.

Each crystal droplet is individually faceted and hung on a wire link, so the entire dome structure has a slight flex and movement when air circulates in the room. The combined weight of the chrome frame and crystal cascade is 9.1kg, requiring a secure ceiling fixing into a joist or a reinforced ceiling rose. The polished chrome finish has a mirror-like reflective quality that pairs with cooler-toned interiors, contemporary kitchens and bathrooms (where ceiling-mounted rather than recessed), and traditional spaces that favour glass and metal over brass.

The Coniston is dimmable when paired with dimmable E14 LED or halogen bulbs and a compatible dimmer switch. Most users pair this fitting with warm-white 2700K-3000K LED candle bulbs between 4-6W to balance the cool chrome with warmer light temperature.
