The Coniston is an 1100mm diameter crystal ring semi-flush ceiling light built around a polished chrome circular frame supporting multiple rows of faceted clear crystals arranged in a torus formation. Eighteen E14 bulb fittings sit behind the crystal rows, each casting light through the faceted glass to produce refracted highlights across the ceiling and walls.

Designed for large living rooms, open-plan kitchen-diners and dining rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or higher, the Coniston combines decorative and ambient function. The 340mm drop from ceiling to base suits rooms where a full suspension pendant would hang too low but a flush-mount fitting would lack visual presence. The ring configuration spreads light evenly around the room perimeter rather than concentrating it in a single downward cone, making it effective for general ambient lighting in spaces up to 25-30m².

Each crystal element is individually faceted to catch and scatter light at different angles, creating movement and sparkle as viewing position changes. Dimmable LEDs paired with a compatible dimmer switch allow the light level to be adjusted from full brightness for cleaning and tasks down to a softer ambient glow for evening use. The polished chrome finish shows fingerprints and dust, so occasional cleaning with a dry microfibre cloth keeps the metal bright and the crystals clear.

What bulbs does the Coniston take?

The fitting takes eighteen E14 (small Edison screw) bulbs up to 20W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users choose warm-white LED candle or golf-ball bulbs at 2700K-3000K and 4-6W per bulb for balanced ambient light without excessive brightness.

Can it be dimmed?

Yes, if you fit dimmable LED bulbs and pair the circuit with a compatible LED dimmer switch. The fitting itself is dimmer-compatible, but standard non-dimmable LEDs will not dim and may flicker if a dimmer is used.

What ceiling height is needed?

The 340mm drop suits rooms with ceiling heights of 2.6m or above. In lower rooms the fitting may feel visually heavy, though the semi-flush design keeps it closer to the ceiling than a full pendant would hang.

How is the 31kg weight supported during installation?

The fitting must be fixed into ceiling joists or a reinforced ceiling rose rated for at least 35kg. Plasterboard-only fixings are not sufficient. If you are uncertain about the ceiling structure, consult a qualified electrician before attempting installation.
