Description

The Coniston is a 250mm flush ceiling light built on an antique brass canopy with three tiers of clear cut crystal droplets arranged in a cascading dome. Three G9 bulbs sit behind the crystals (sold separately, max 10W each), refracting light through the faceted glass and casting prismatic highlights across the room. The fitting stands 240mm from the ceiling when installed, keeping the crystal dome close enough for low-ceiling bathrooms while maintaining sufficient depth for the light to move through the tiers.

Designed for bathroom zone 2 with an IP44 rating, the Coniston handles moisture from showers and baths without requiring full enclosure. It suits ensuite bathrooms, cloakrooms, and low-ceiling bathrooms where a traditional chandelier would hang too low but ambient crystal lighting is still wanted. The flush mount fixes directly to a standard UK ceiling rose, and the 3.75kg weight requires secure fixing into a joist or suitable ceiling support.

The antique brass finish on the canopy and internal frame carries a darker, warmer tone than polished brass, pairing well with traditional bathroom schemes that use brushed brass taps, warm-toned tiles, or period-style sanitaryware. The clear crystals are individually faceted to catch and scatter light, creating movement as the bulbs warm up and as ambient light changes through the day. Each tier overlaps the next, so the fixture presents as a single domed cluster rather than separated rings.

The G9 fitting accepts both halogen and LED G9 capsule bulbs. LED G9s at 2700K-3000K give a warm white light that suits bathroom use and matches the warmth of the antique brass. Dimmer compatibility depends on the specific G9 bulb chosen — most LED G9s are now dimmable, but confirm before pairing with a dimmer switch.

Yes. The IP44 rating makes it suitable for bathroom zone 2, which covers areas 0.6m outside the bath or shower and up to 2.25m above floor level. It is not rated for zone 0 or zone 1, which require higher IP ratings.

What bulbs does it take?

Three G9 capsule bulbs, max 10W each. Bulbs are sold separately. Most users pair this with LED G9 bulbs at 2700K-3000K warm white for bathroom use. Halogen G9s are also compatible but run hotter and use more energy.
